Games That Should Be Turned Into Movies

Games and movies are the two things I love the most but I always prefer games over films. I played my first game when I was 10 years old (it was Half-Life 2, I guess) and it was love on first play. Never in my life had a movie entertained me as much as Half-Life 2 did. It had been made clear to me that I would continue playing games for the rest of my life.

Coming to the point... Games have developed a lot through the years. Most of the major games these days have well developed plots and scripts along with realistic characters and dialogues which make some games as good as movies, if not better. Many titles such as Prince of Persia, Max Payne and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider have already been made into films but there have been many worthy games which have been missed out. So here's a list of the games which, I think, should definitely made into movies.
Video Games
Video Games

1.Assassin's Creed Series
Assassin's Creed games have been around since 2007. They have been a huge success and already have been made into novels, comics and a TV mini-series. Finally, the developers have decided to make a film on the series. The planned date for the movie release is June 19, 2015.

2. Uncharted Series
The series has sold about 17 million copies worldwide as of 2012. It's no doubt that gamers love Uncharted, although it is made only for PlayStation 3. So, the game definitely deserves a movie. Columbia Pictures has announced that an Uncharted movie is being developed but no official release date has been revealed as of now.

3. The Last of Us
The Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog (the guys who made Uncharted), has earned the status of "legendary" and is considered to be the fastest selling PlayStation 3 game of all time. The game received widespread critical acclaim for it's script, voice acting, sound design, level design and art direction and was also praised for the themes it's story dealt with , such as sacrifice, loyalty, fate and hope. Playing the game was almost like watching a movie, only that it let you play as a character and hence, get involved in the story. I am sure that a movie made on The Last of Us will be a huge success like the game is.

4. The BioShock Series
A series whose story amazed me the most is BioShock (like I mentioned in my BioShock Infinite: Review). BioShock games have plots with unique concepts and are a bit complex, with long character back-stories and histories of the cities in which the games are set. The story seems convincing and realistic because of the detailed explanations and cut scenes. A movie based on BioShock has the full potential to be a work of brilliance.

5. Heavy Rain
The game features the mystery of the Origami Killer who uses extended periods of rainfall to drown his victims. Sounds awesome, doesn't it. The game is heavily centered on the plot and mostly offers quick-time game-play, so it's practically an interactive movie. The game already has an awesome storyline, so all a movie producer needs to make a film on it, is a skilled director.

6. Metal Gear Solid Series
The series is known for it's long cut scenes, story, graphics and also for one of my favorite characters of all time - Solid Snake. It would be a pleasure to watch Snake performing his stunts and stealthily killing enemies on a movie screen. The creator of the series, Hideo Kojima announced that a Metal Gear movie is in development with Columbia Pictures but did not specify a release date.

7. Half Life Series
Half Life, along with Doom revolutionized first person shooter games. Half Life 2 was one of the first games I had played, as I mentioned before. Apart from having amazing game-play, the Half Life series was also praised for it's intricate plot. The CEO of Valve (the developer of Half Life), Gabe Newell, once announced that he has plans to develop a film based on half life's story.

Nvidia Says - PC Is Far Superior To Any Console

Matt Wright who is the consumer sales manager at the company - Nvidia, says that PC is the best platform for gaming. He says that it's functionality makes it 'far superior' to gaming consoles. Staunch console gamers would need some convincing to accept such a fact.

Wright said "We are proposing small form-factor PCs to be a viable alternative to the next-gen consoles. Enthusiast players want the ultimate games system and that is the PC. The PC platform is far superior to any console when it comes to gaming, plus you get all the extra functionality that a computer brings."

PCs are known to be more complex to build and maintain as gaming machines compared to next-gen gaming consoles. According to Wright Nvidia's goal is "to make PC gaming as simple as possible and its already becoming much more relevant and appealing to casual gamers."

Talking about Steam, Wright said "Steam now has more users than Xbox Live. There is a whole new generation who grew up playing on PC with titles like Minecraft or World of Tanks. There is a huge community who love playing their games on PC."

Small PC gaming boxes are a major part of Valve's Steam OS push to get PC hardware in the living room, with the first Steam Machines expected to arrive in 2014.

Since Nvidia's competitor AMD is making graphics chips for the Xbox One and PS4, it is quite natural for an employee of Nvidia to say what Wright Said.
What do you think? Is Wright correct? Does PC beat the PS4 and Xbox One at gaming?

PS4 Won't Experience Losses like the PS3

The PS4 and contents of the box.

The CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment - Andrew House announced that PS4 will not generate large large losses like the PS3 did. In an investor's meeting, Andrew told the investors that the developing cost of the PS4 is less than the PS3 due to its PC like architecture. So, it won't create a loss like the PS3 did when it had been launched.
Sony lost more than $3.5 billion on 2007 and 2008 because of the initial cost of the PS3 when it had been launched in November 2006 for $599. After the company reduced the manufacturing cost by introducing the slim model, it lost about $40 per system.

Microsoft has always been charging for stuff on the Xbox! They are going to do this for the Xbox One too?! The additional features on the Xbox One will need a paid Live Gold Subscription. Microsoft has announced the features for which you will need the Live Gold Subscription. PS4 Interface Video Leaks!

Not much has been revealed about the PS4 interface. Only a few screenshots. Recently, a video showing the interface of the PS4 (unintentionally) has been released. There was a livestream (live playing of a game) of the game Blacklight: Retribution. During the live streaming, the game crashed which revealed some of the interface of the PS4. Maybe the interface shown in the video is still to be developed (finishing touches) and not the final product.

The video shows the game Blacklight: Retribution being played and then it crashes. Then the awesome interface is revealed! Enjoy!

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Will Have Underwater Gameplay!

It has been revealed that the upcoming game in the Assassin's Creed series (Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag) will have underwater gameplay elements! While swimming underwater, the player is vulnerable to predators such as sharks, eels, stingrays. Since the game is set in the old times when there were pirates and stuff, the player doesn't have an oxygen tank or mask. There will be items called air pockets and air barrels which the ship crew passes to you. You need to pop your head into the barrel whenever you run out of breath. The player can collect treasure and upgrades for his ship while swimming underwater. There will also be secret passages and ways to smugglers' caves which the player can find underwater. You can get into the cave, kill some bad guys and have the cave's wealth for yourself.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will release in North American countries on October 29th and Europe on November 1st. I am so excited!

Playstation 4 Revealed!

PS4 with controller (DualShock 4)

Yes guys! Its finally here! The most anticipated gaming console of the generation! Playstation 4! On Monday night Sony revealed the long awaited PS4 at a press conference (E3) and showed some of its most notable game titles. The announcement was made the same day when the Xbox One announcement was made. Sony ended the press conference after revealing that the price for pre-ordering the Playstation 4 will be 399$. The Playstation 4 is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The price of the PS4 is 100$ less than the price announced for Xbox One. This may be a reason the PS4 will have better sales than Xbox One. Company President Andrew House told the audience that the PS4 will be able to play second hand games on the system (which Xbox doesn't). Sony also announced that they have teamed up with Gaikai to develop a cloud based gaming system that will allow users to play PS3 games streamed over the internet on their Playstation 4s. This feature won't be available when the PS4 launches but is planned for 2014. According to Jack Tretton, over 140 games are in development for the PS4 and there will be at least 100 games released in PS4's first year. Some of the confirmed PS4 games are - Killzone: Shadow Fall, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Infamous: Second Son, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. There are 66 confirmed games for the PS4 in total. I don't know about India but the PS4 is releasing in mid November in the U.S.A.
The Playstation 4 is well designed and creatively crafted. It has a simple yet modern design - slim, light and high-style. The body of the PS4 has been divided into four sections as if four blocks have been stacked together as a single piece. The body will have a disc slot, some buttons, power indicator and a vent in the slim space between the sections at the back. The internal design of the PS4 is as awesome as the body.
